Chronic Stable Angina
نویسنده
چکیده
OBJECTIVES After participating in the CME activity, primary care physicians should be able to: 1. Identify the therapies that reduce mortality risk in patients with chronic stable angina versus those therapies that may reduce angina symptoms without affecting survival 2. Know the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) level at which cholesterol-lowering therapy should be initiated in persons with coronary artery disease and the optimal target LDL level 3. Understand the settings in which revascularization offers clear mortality benefit 4. Identify the issues that are important to review at followup visits 5. Recognize the features of progressive or unstable angina that warrant further evaluation or urgent hospitalization

بررسی میزان سطح اسید اوریک سرمی و شدت درگیری عروق کرونر در آنژیوگرافی در بیماران مبتلا به chronic Stable Angina
Background and purpose: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the first cause of death in modern societies. It is also the first cause for individual health care cost. Multiple risk factors are mentioned for its development among which elevated uric acid is recently introduced as an inflammatory factor. This study was performed for evaluating the serum uric acid level and severity of CAD determined...
متن کاملMonocyte Expression of Toll-like Receptor-4 in Patients with Stable Angina Undergoing Percutanoeus Coronary Intervention
Background: Toll like receptors (TLRs) are well recognized players in inflammatory conditions. Among them TLR-4 is involved in chronic inflammatory processes such as formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Objective: The present study was aimed to examine the effects of percutanoeus coronary intervention (PCI) as a revascularization method on monocyte expression of hTLR-4 and on the serum levels ...

OBJECTIVE To assess whether neopterin concentrations in women with unstable angina differ from those in women with chronic stable angina. DESIGN Prospective cohort study. SETTING University hospital in south west London. PATIENTS 114 consecutive women with angina were studied: 82 had chronic stable angina (typical exertional chest pain, positive exercise ECG testing, and/or abnormal myoca...
متن کاملComparison between Revascularization and Optimal Medical Therapy in Patients with Stable Angina Pectoris
Background and Purpose: Regarding usefulness of revascularization versus optimal medical therapy in patients with stable angina pectoris, data are challenging. The aim of this 12-month follow-up study was to compare the survival benefit associated with revascularization versus optimal medical therapy on the patients with stable angina pectoris. Materials and Methods: A prospective clinical s...
متن کاملUtility of ranolazine in chronic stable angina patients
Chronic stable angina is a debilitating illness affecting at least 6.6 million US residents. Despite being optimally treated by pharmacotherapy and revascularization up to 26% of patients still experience angina. Diabetes mellitus is a common co-morbid condition in angina patients. Several new investigational medications are being tested for chronic angina. Advances in understanding of myocardi...
متن کاملStable angina: a balanced approach
Coronary artery disease is a chronic medical condition associated with high mortality and morbidity. Among individuals with coronary artery disease, more than 50% have chronic stable angina. Recent evidence supports initial treatment with medical therapy, followed by revascularization, if indicated, in patients with chronic stable angina. The successful management of patients with chronic stabl...
